On one of my trips to Disney World, I spent some time photographing in the bird sanctuary/aviary on Discovery Island. The bright colored flamingos in the sunshine were used to set the camera exposure, allowing the shoreline shrubbery to go essentially black. The original image was captured on Kodachrome 64 and later scanned into my computer. The result was what I saw in my mind's eye when I triggered the shutter release. But, I had no idea if I would be successful until the film was developed. Those were the good old days.
