In La Jolla, California, drive south along the coast to Coast Blvd. Park, just south of the Contemporary Art Museum.
I know the Coast Blvd. Park area well, so when I heard about the super moon that would be rising June 23, 2013, I knew the tide would be very high. Several hours before the highpoint, which conveniently was shortly before sunset, I drove to the coast and picked out some fun compositions with the holes and other rock formations. As the tide rose, the waves washed over the rocks, filling in the holes and creating opportunities for cloud reflections. My waterproof hiking boots didn't stay watertight for long. After shooting, I wiped down my camera gear and rinsed off and dried my tripod.
Holes eroded into the rocks at Coast Blvd. Park in La Jolla, California, make for fun compositions when the tide is right.
