Stormy Sunrise, Convict Lake (eastern Sierra)

Description

Thank goodness for unpredictable weather in the sierras, which seems to increase in autumn. I was anticipating a flat, cloudless sunrise on this morning, and woke to a passing winter storm instead--the clouds to the east over the White Mountains kept the rising sun form blasting Mt. Laurel with too much strong light, leaving just a sliver across its face, and the virga overhead picked up just enough light to take on a pink glow.
