Description

Setting Moon at Sunrise, Winter, Green River Overlook, Canyonlands National Park, Utah. It is a long drive from Moab in the predawn darkness, and a bit of a hike over the slickrock with a large format camera slung over your back, to get to this spot where the moon is going down in the glow of sunrise. A full moon in this position in the sky at this time of morning only happens about once a year. So to be there and get the shot takes lots of planning and good luck. Within minutes the moon disappeared behind the bank of clouds closer to the horizon.
