Sandhill Cranes were migrating in the spring and had stopped on their route at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Eastern Oregon. I had to sneak up on them by crawling in the tall grass with camera mounted on tripod to avoid them flying off. They spotted me several times, however. But each time they got spooked, all they did was fly up in the air a couple hundred feet and then land in the same spot they had taken off from. I guess they figured I wasn't much of a threat.
