Port Perry is a small town on Highway 7A about 15 minutes north of Whitby, southern Ontario, which in turn is about twenty minutes East of Toronto on Highway 401.
My yard is a wildlife refuge and any given night I don't have to go far to find some of interest. In daytime, dozens of brd species hang out in the trees and shrubs, at night skunks, raccoons, voles, you name it, make merry in a woodpile and environs. Never a dull moment.
This bold juvenile raccoon discovered high-wired sun-flower shaped birds' suet holder in my backyard yew and took a leap of faith after midnight. This got him into a slippy, precarious, swinging position as I grabbed my camera, got the shot. He then flipped to the ground to join his brother below. My first thought: Guy and his Montreal crew could probably use him. Loved the guilty look on that bandit face.
