Description

We discovered these bees in our orchard last year. They chew off the petals of our flowers, roll them up under their abdomen and then fly off to their nest. Solitary bees, they dig a hole in the side of the mountain, line it in flower petals, lay an egg, then fill in the hole with mud, for the baby bee to be born the following spring. When they weren't stealing our flowers bit by bit, they were gorging on our Thai Basil flowers.
