Living in western Colorado, I try to make it to the Moab area at least once a year. Arches National Park has always been a favorite spot of mine; the area really feels like another planet. I took this night shot of Double Arch in mid October 2012. Most of the shots I've seen of Double Arch are taken outside the arches looking toward them. I decided to do something a little different and got directly underneath the arches, pointing my camera straight up, I was able to get a fun composition of the famous arches. I used a high ISO to freeze the stars and a large flashlight to illuminate the arches. It took a few tries to get the light painted on the arches correctly, but it was worth it!
