Notes

The best time to take a shot like this is in the spring or summer, when twilight occurs between 7-8 p.m. At any other time, twilight will fall around 5 p.m. (the height of the evening rush) -- not the best time to set up a tripod on a busy midtown Manhattan street!

Description

The Empire State Building and surrounding area at twilight. During the 1-minute exposure, I shined a powerful red light on the steps of the decorative staircase on the right. Although people were passing by, they were rendered invisible due to the length of the exposure.
