"The Sentinel" is of an indigenous Quiver Tree outside the capitol of Namibia, Windhoek. Legend has it that the bark of the Quiver Tree were used by the Bushmen of the Kalahari, as quivers for their arrows. These succulent Aloe species are scattered across Namibia and South Africa. This photo was taken in the early morning light, with the moon visible in the background. My exposure was too short to capture the moon efficiently.
