Winter Evening, Mono Lake

Description

I had traveled to Mono Lake this winter afternoon hoping to shoot a nice sunset--the sky was clear (and stayed that way), but the wind was completely still, making for a mirror-like reflection of the lake's iconic tufa formations. The cold blue of the snow and granite all around the lake balanced nicely with the "warm" glow of evening light, creating a scene I came away liking much more than the sunset itself.
