Evening Light On Rabbit Brush, Owens Valley

State/Province/Region
CA
Country
US
Description

I had been shooting fall color in Bishop Canyon, and got chased back down to the valley by an afternoon thunderstorm. Aspens aren't the only source of fall color in the Owens Valley--that's also the time of year that rabbitbrush, which grows thickly on the valley floor, blooms. The storm over the mountains mostly obscured the sun, but let through just enough light to give the bright yellow rabbitbrush a dramatic glow.
