Notes

The most sought-after location in Zion - "The Narrows" - is closed during the winter, however, there are still many great opportunities for both wide landscapes and macro details throughout the canyon. Winter sunsets are particularly striking with the Virgin River and The Watchman as foreground elements. The river is lined with Cottonwood Trees throughout the canyon. Although most colorful in autumn I've found the limbs of the Cottonwoods to be wonderful elements for contrast and texture against the red of the canyon walls.

Description

Cottonwood leaf caught in ice along the shore of the Virgin River in Zion National Park, Utah.
