Description

Hand-held, RAW. Even though the sun was very bright, I shot at a high ISO 2500 because I had closed down to f/5.6, and wanted a shutter speed of 1/1000/sec. The reason being every time I piddled with center-point AF to try to achieve razor focus...the dragonfly would fly off at warp speed after only having lit for a few seconds. Also, the polarizer filter held back a bit too much light. I still like the filter a lot, but for the fastest insect shots, it’s really not an advantage. I also had to heavily crop this shot more than I wanted, to achieve the boldness of subject size for the final image. NR employed in post was tricky, as usual. It seems more effective in ACR than in PS, even though PS offers more customization.
