I planned to wake up early with my father and drive to the top of the mountain to get some sunrise photos. It was 6am as we started our journey in the fog blanketed road up the mountain with coffee in hand. We got to the top and climbed into an old abandoned Fire tower and waited for the sun to peak over the distant mountain tops. With my gear ready and focused on the slowly warming colors of the eastern sky the sun finally showed itself. Beams of light painted the fog covering the valley in a warm glow as the trees below us took on a golden green color. I will always remember that shared moment watching the sunrise above the fog in that fire tower with my father.
