This is the North branch of Illinois Beach State Park. It's north of Chicago, just south of Zion, and due east from Beach Park village.
Lake Michigan has many moods and the south branch of the Park was closed because of storm damage, this shows a peaceful side of the great lake.
It was a beautiful late, summer day at the beach just before sunset. The seagulls were gathering on the old pier and boats were heading for the harbor just north of us. The lake was nice and calm, and when this sailboat appeared, it was the epitome of summer on the lake.
