Summer in Arizona means monsoon season and I happened to arrive at Horseshoe Bend at just the right time. Even though this is a highly photographed area I got lucky: just as one storm cleared up, another storm broke out along the horizon. Just as the sun began to set the rain clouds lit up with oranges, reds, pinks, and some purples. I couldn't have asked for a better sunset! Just below me the cliffs dropped off thousands of feet. I made sure not to get *too* close!
