A warm hazy Friday evening down on the farm. One sun flower picked out of the crowd and contrasted with the flare produced by getting the sun very close to edge of the frame. The rays of the sun and the petals of several of the sunflowers all add to the pattern. In these days of big agriculture is great to still have the local family owned farms. Donaldson Farms, one of the farms in my local area does its "Summers Nights on the Farm" every Friday night through the summer. Great food freshly prepared with a lot of it from the farm itself, a live band and lots of families with their kids running around having fun jumping through hoses and climbing hay bails. Sunflowers are a beautiful if somewhat risky crop. Fields full of sunflower may look amazing but for the farmer a single bad storm can wipe out an entire crop. Once they stem is bend and the head hits the dirt the flower is no longer good for harvest.
