I took this picture with a Canon 10-22mm EF 3.8 lens on a Canon 7D. I wanted an f/16 aperture but the light was low. I set my Camera, for this picture, at a 125th of a second. I didn't want to go any slower because the clouds would start blurring too much. I set my ISO to 400. Any higher would have been too grainy. I used a tripod to give myself flexibility around different exposures and more control in the composition. This is a Road that's part of the "Grand Circle". It's just outside Boulder, Utah. I was driving through the area as the day was waning. I noticed this scene open up in my rear view mirror and found a place to pull over. I waited for the clouds and light to move across the landscape. Finally I got some light breaking through in the background enough to give the scene more depth.
