Following the main road to Canyon Village and then continue south past Fishing Bridge there are many areas along the road to the East Entrance where the water pools and creates ponds such as this one.
It was such a peaceful and undisturbed area almost hidden by the snow-ladened pines. Each year when we return to Yellowstone, the weather changes the landscape making it difficult to find but we are always on the alert as we travel on the road to Sylvan Lake.
This was a pond almost hidden along the highway on the road to the Sylvan Lake. What caught my eye was the green needles against the black and white background. It captured the snow that had already started to blanket Yellowstone National Park's landscape in early October.
