Description

This Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) mother had a single yearling cub when we visited Lake Clark National Park in June. Without any siblings, the cub turned to its mother to play. Here mom is on the lookout for male bears, and trying to snack on some grass - but the cub is practicing its stalking skills on the mother. The soft evening light makes the bears' light coats glow with warmth.
