Sandhill Cranes Linger In The Fire Mist by Tom Barnwell

Tom Barnwell submitted this photo to the current Twilight Landscapes Assignment, and although it doesn’t really fit that theme, I like it enough to make this the OP Photo Of The Day. Barnwell took the photograph in 2011 when he was attending a Rick Sammon workshop. The weather conditions were perfect for creating the morning most which caught the sunlight beautifully.

I’ll be selecting a Photo Of The Day from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the contest galleries. Submit your best shots to be in the running.

    Thanks, Christopher. I originally submitted the image to “Atmospherics,” which I believe is a better fit, then also submitted it to Twilight even though, technically, the sun had just peeked over the horizon to create the backlit mist.
