Photo Of The Day 7/30/2012
Robin Black took this photograph at Garrapata State Beach in California and submitted it to the recent Coastlines Assignment. To me this photograph shows the massive forces that intersect where the Pacific Ocean meets the North American Continent. Some coastlines look pastoral and serene, this photograph shows the other extreme. Whether it’s morning fog from a marine layer or spray from the constant pounding of the waves, the misty atmosphere helps make the image a top selection for me. You can see Robin Black’s description of the photo here. Check out the full Coastline Assignment gallery here. Check out the current Assignment and submit your photographs. I choose the Photo Of The Day from Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contest galleries. You can see more of my Photo Of The Day selections on the OP Blog.

I live landlocked in the desert. What a beautiful image. The humidity and the smell of the spray are present here.
