Photo Of The Day 9/25/2012
Posted By Christopher Robinson
Joshua Tree National Park is one of my favorite places to go, but I’ve always found it a bit frustrating to photograph. Prashant Shah shows how to do it well with today’s Photo Of The Day. The Big horn sheep are shy and elusive in the park, but Shah was able to create this beautiful photograph through some luck and preparation. He writes, “We were hiking for a good sunset view when suddenly we crossed paths with some sheep. I pulled out my camera, but they got scared and ran off. I looked around for them, only to find they ran to high ground, creating this opportune shot.”
Prashant Shah submitted the photograph to the National Parks Assignment which is open for submissions. I’ll be looking at this Assignment for some upcoming articles in OP, so please send in your best shots. Photos taken anywhere within the National Parks System, which includes National Refuges, National Forests and more are fair game for the National Parks Assignment.

Images come from Your Favorite Places, Assignmentsand the contest galleries. We’ve revamped Assignments and the Your Favorite Places sections of the website and you’ll see some great improvements. You can see more of my Photo Of The Day selections on the OP Blog.
