Marcus Mcadam On Top Of The World

Marcus Mcadam sent this photo to the Your Favorite Places gallery where it’s among the most viewed and highest ranked. It fits the criteria of the current People In The Landscape Assignment which is open for submissions through April 2nd. Mcadam took the photo on the Isle Of Skye in the UK. He writes, “To get to this viewpoint requires a 4-5 hour climb over rough steep terrain. You need to be an experienced mountaineer and navigator. There are several routes up from different start points.”  This photograph gave me a sense of being in the place myself. By including the hiker in the photo, Mcadam gives it scale and he creates a connection to the scene.  Mcadam used a Canon EOS 5D Mk II and a Canon 17-40mm lens. You can see all of Marcus Mcadam’s submission to the OP galleries here.

I’ll be choosing a Photo Of The Day every day. I select the images from the various OP galleries including AssignmentsYour Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
