White Mountain Delight by Bob Faucher

Today’s Photo Of The Day comes from Bob Faucher and it was submitted to the Moonshot Assignment. Faucher took the photo in California’s White Mountains where the Ancient Bristlecone pines cling to the dry, rocky hillsides. “On a clear evening the warm glow of twilight filled the sky,” Faucher writes, “as the crescent moon traversed, appearing to be captured momentarily in the outstretched branches of a Bristlecone pine.” He used a Canon EOS 5D, 28-70 mm lens at 65 mm, a  Gitzo tripod with a ReallyRightStuff BH 55 ballhead.

I choose the OP Photo Of The Day from the various OP galleries including AssignmentsYour Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.

Thank you Christopher, Tom and Dustin. I am honored to have my photo chosen. This was a very special night. I spent hours working the Schulman Grove under varying light.
