Canon EOS 6D: The Perfect Multimedia Full Frame DSLR Camera

Unlock your creative vision with the 20.2 Megapixel, Full Frame Canon EOS 6D

Full Frame, 20.2 Megapixel CMOS Sensor
At the heart of the EOS 6D is a newly designed, full frame, 20.2 Megapixel Canon CMOS image sensor with a new photodiode structure that provides outstanding image quality for still images and video.

High-End HD Video
Join the HD video DSLR revolution with the EOS 6D, featuring filmmaking technology similar to that found in Canon Cinema cameras. It’s capable of capturing 1920x1080p full HD video at 30 (29.97) and 24 (23.976) fps, 1280x720p HD at 60 (59.94) fps and 640x480 at 30p. For 1080 and 720 video, you can choose from two compression methods: All-I-Frame (compresses each frame for easy editing and frame extraction) or IPB (compresses by referencing previous and next frames for smaller files, useful for longer movies). You can also choose between Rec Run and Free Run timecoding for multicamera shoots. For convenience and extended recording without interruption, files longer than 4 GB are automatically split. Sound (mono via a built-in microphone or stereo via an optional external mic) can be manually adjusted in 64 steps. The big full frame sensor and fast EF lenses provide cinematic control over depth of field.

Powerful DIGIC 5+ Processing
Create clear, vibrant, low-noise photos with the EOS 6D and the powerful DIGIC 5+ Image Processor. DIGIC 5+ delivers incredible high ISO noise reduction, super-quick operation and even real-time correction of chromatic aberration in both still and video shooting. The EOS 6D can also correct for Lens Peripheral Illumination (vignetting) and distortion.

Stunning High ISO Capability
Shoot in fast-changing and low light conditions with confidence. With a normal ISO range of 100-25600 for still photos and 100-12800 for HD video, the EOS 6D can capture images that would be impossible with lesser cameras. For really extreme situations, you can expand the ISO range to ISO 50 (L), ISO 51200 (Hi1) and ISO 102400 (Hi2).

Fast 4.5 fps Still Shooting
The EOS 6D can shoot full-resolution images at up to 4.5 fps, with autofocusing for each frame, for up to 73 Large/Fine JPEG or 14 RAW files (1250 JPEG/17 RAW with a UHS-I memory card). There’s also a 3 fps Silent Continuous Shooting mode.

Accurate 11-Point AF
With its new high-precision, 11-point AF system, the EOS 6D can lock in on your subject in light levels as dim as EV -3.

Full Access To The Canon EF Lens Lineup
The EOS 6D can use all EF lenses, which currently number more than 50, from an 8-15mm fisheye and a 14mm superwide-angle to an 800mm supertelephoto, plus four manual-focus TS-E tilt-shift lenses and a 1-5X macro zoom. All can be used for video, as well as still photos.

Built-In GPS
The EOS 6D’s built-in GPS can automatically geotag your images with latitude, longitude, elevation and time in the EXIF metadata. There’s even a logging function that lets you see your route on a computer. We took our test camera on a hike up a local mountain, and the elevation it recorded at the summit matched the elevation published on the topo map—very accurate.

Built-In Wi-Fi
Built-in Wi-Fi makes it easy to transfer your images and videos to social-networking sites via Canon Image Gateway, operate the camera remotely via your smartphone (using the free Canon EOS Remote App) and review images without taking the EOS 6D out of your camera bag.

In-Camera HDR
The EOS 6D can combine data from three bracketed images into a single image with increased detail from highlights through shadows.

Scene Intelligent Auto Mode
When you just want to let the camera do it all, Scene Intelligent Auto Mode combines Picture Style Auto, Automatic Lighting Optimizer, Automatic White Balance, Autofocus and Automatic Exposure, then considers faces, colors, brightness, moving objects, contrast and whether the camera is being handheld or on a tripod—and sets the camera to deliver the best image.
