It’s hard to say goodbye

Kodachrome will soon go the way of the dodo bird and the Polaroid. Though it’s clear that a statistically insignificant number of us still utilized this classic color film, it’s nevertheless a dark day in the history of photography. After all, name another film that’s been immortalized both in song and with it’s own state park? Mike Stensvold’s previous obit of the film showed just how personal a connection between photographer and film can be. For an even more in-depth look at the life and death of Kodak’s most unique color film, visit Photojojo’s complete guide to Kodachrome. It contains examples, histories and testimonials all about the film—even resources for still purchasing it so that, before it’s too late, you can rush out and buy up a few boxes. Shoot some of the film and send it off for processing before that, too, goes the way of so many other photographic classics.
