Stereographic Planets

stereographicAre your landscape photographs starting to look a little stale? Are you maybe getting tired of being stuck in a rut, shooting the same old subjects over and over? Perhaps you should consider making photographs of little planets. That’s right—PLANETS! Okay, these aren’t real planets. But they look like they could be really fun little diversions for the inquisitive photographer. The process is called Stereographic Planets, and it’s a post-production method for turning a “normal” panoramic landscape photo into its own little planet. Smash & Peas has a great gallery of ten “planet” photos, and it even links to a basic tutorial for making your own. The tutorial is probably a bit too basic, however, so I’d suggest checking out a more detailed explanation of how to make your own stereographic planets—like the one found at Photjojo.
