Minimal Black & White Landscapes

The Flickr blog this weekend showcased a selection of beautiful images from its Minimal Black & White group. The great photos immediately reminded me of two things: the importance of space and minimalism in the design of a great graphic landscape composition (particularly when working in black & white), and the phenomenal work of landscape photographer and modern master of black & white, Rolfe Horn.

After perusing the Flickr gallery, be sure to visit Rolfe’s web site, named for one of his favorite apertures—f45.com. While you’re there, be sure to check out the 2003 Outdoor Photographer profile of Rolfe and his work.
