Outdoor Photographer Gateway

Creating a Sense of Community Between Us

Here at Outdoor Photographer we have hopes that our Web site will become a portal for you to connect with the entire nature photographer community. Our wish is to create a sense of community between you (those of you who love to shoot scenics, wildlife, action and travel photos) and the different editors here at the magazine.

We recently launched the Community area on our homepage to help build a gateway to connect you with us editors and other like-minded photographers. This area consists of the Blog where you can read about our thoughts on anything from major camera news to global issues, a Forum area that connects you with other photographers that you can post your photos, ask questions, get critiques and converse on the latest imaging techniques, and a Gear section dedicated to the newest product announcements.

Here at OP we are constantly improving and adding more content to the site, and hope that you will actively participate in the forums and provide us with feedback (we actually do read and respond to comments) so that we can create a better sense of community between us.

In the meantime, there’s a lot to take in on our site, including hundreds of articles on different photo adventures and shooting techniques, how-tos, equipment and software reviews, popular as well as unknown locations to shoot and columns from the most well-known and respected photographers in the world.

So here are a few of our favorite articles that we think you may like to visit once more…

Dust & Snow -- Shooting In Extreme Conditions: From the Arctic to the Serengeti, global nature photographer Daniel J. Cox shares his tips for taking images in extreme weather conditions by Daniel J. Cox, an adventure how-to on how to prepare for extreme weather conditions.
