The Impossible Polaroid Project

Do you long for the good old days of Polaroid instant film? Lucky for you, there's The Impossible Project. Roughly a dozen former employees at a Polaroid film factory in Holland were recruited by Austrian entrepreneur and Polaroid aficionado Florian Kaps, who acquired the plant and its film-making machines. Once valued at well over $100-million, the facility cranked out a product that simply became no longer commercially viable thanks to the digital photography revolution. Kaps decided that commercial viability shouldn’t dictate the loss of photographic icon, and so with support from Ilford Kaps’ aptly named Impossible Project aims to begin production of color and black & white Polaroid films, to be sold under the “Impossible” brand name, in 2010.
