Timing is Everything

Patience is a virtue—especially if you’re a landscape photographer. Having the patience to wait for the light to go from good to great, or great to perfect, is easier said than done. But as Steve Berardi illustrates wonderfully at PhotoNaturalist, timing IS important to landscape photography. In fact, it’s everything. In a 30-minute span, magic hour light can go from fine to phenomenal… and then back again. Knowing how to spot the decisive moment isn’t just for fast-moving photographs; it’s key for landscapes, too.
