Non-technical tips that will make you a better photographer

Sometimes photo tips can get too hung up on the little details—f/stops and shutter speeds and Photoshop tools. It’s easy to forget that there are other important ways to improve your photography. Lee Milthorpe has done a wonderful job of providing practical tips that don’t involve any camera or computer controls at all. In fact, these great tips can be done almost entirely without a camera in hand. Advice such as “be critical” and “be patient” may sound a little touchy-feely, but it needs to be said. These philosophical tips that change the way you see the world through your viewfinder are equally important as anything you can do to the camera—if not more so. My favorite bit of advice? Give yourself assignments. No matter what you shoot, or how you shoot, giving yourself a practical, tangible, attainable goal is a wonderful way to see dramatic improvements in your photography. http://www.smashandpeas.com/10-tips-to-help-you-become-a-better-photographer/
