Double-Dip

The Online Photographer just pointed to a great series at FredMiranda.com in which Conrad Tan tested out his new Canon EOS 7D by photographing wildlife—specifically, all manner of interesting birds in flight. I get the impression that Conrad isn’t a professional, but he sure got a great take of more than 30 real keepers in just a day of shooting. It’s worth checking out both for the great bird shots and for a look at the 7D’s capabilities—most notably that the AF can track fast-flying birds and that the 18-megapixel resolution provides enough leeway for some serious cropping. That’s a great side effect of the megapixel race: more pixels means more flexibility to fill the frame via cropping for more interesting wildlife photos.
