The Epson P-5000 viewer has established itself as a favorite among photographers because it’s fully featured, ultra-reliable and powered by a long-lasting battery. The P-5000 displays over 16.7 million colors and provides Adobe RGB color space support. Smaller than a paperback book, the P-5000 features a large, four-inch LCD that uses Epson’s exclusive Photo Fine Ultra technology—and weighs less than one pound. The P-5000 has an 80 GB hard drive and built-in memory card slots. It has two Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports (standard and mini), and interfaces that allow you to connect to most TVs to display images, slideshows and movies. It features a brilliant 3.7-inch VGA resolution display for crisp and clear viewing of stored digital images, a transfer speed of up to 1 GB in about two minutes, a verify function for safe and reliable transfer of images, and real RAW file decoding of more than 100 RAW formats. The GIGA Vu extreme also includes an SD/SDHC adapter, and it’s the first JOBO image storage device designed for compatibility with JOBO’s new photoGPS unit. In addition to that mammoth hard drive and large, 3.6-inch LCD, the Wolverine ESP 250 has the ability to read text files and features an FM tuner and recorder and a 7-in-1 media card reader. Additionally, video recording can be enabled via an optional cradle. The ESP includes a cable that allows connection to TVs and projectors. It has a built-in speaker and a high-capacity, long-life battery that reportedly will play music continually for 13 hours before it needs to be recharged. Estimated Street Price: $599 (250 GB).
