FORECAST Short Film by Tim Sessler

FORECAST

With a haunting soundtrack and imagery that has a hint of melancholy, FORECAST by Tim Sessler is a beautiful short film that was shot on a Canon EOS 5D Mk III during a cross country trip in 2012. Sessler has a talent for pacing and for matching visual subject matter to the music. It's synergistic. The whole is more than the sum of the parts. He shot in Washington DC, Sequoia National Park, Glacier National Park, The Salton Sea, Bombay Beach, Zion National Park,  Redwoods National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Big Sur and Crater Lake National Park (OR). These are world-renowned, iconic locations, yet Sessler's cinematography shies away from the obvious shots, focusing instead on intimate details and occasionally unorthodox and original compositions. When you watch the film, be sure to have your speakers on. You don't want to miss the way it all works with the music.

Lovely…. a call to wake from moving through and across life asleep. I would have fought to title this “Witness” . Such a strong almost oceanic building of the sense of disappearing…Haven’t thought of Rachel Carson for awhile, but she would smile.
