Looking for a gloves recommendation...

Postby skyliner » Mon May 24, 2010 12:14 pm

There was a recent article in OP recommending the use of a thinner liner-type glove (for camera operation finger dexterity) that preferably would have a wind-blocking feature and, that might be worn under half-finger knit gloves. I have knit liner-type gloves that help slow down the cold camera's heat draw from my fingers and give me good dexterity...but, they do not have any wind resistance. Have any of you discovered the "magic gloves" for magic hour?

Hi there,

For Photography, these are the one I personnaly use and like a lot: HEAT convertible mitts. They allow to use your fingers and cover them back. you can stash a heat pack inside them.

I've made a review on my bushcraft channel on youtube. Excuse my spoken english, I usually speak french, but if you are interested, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfD46wEOuYE

I just ordered some Dakine liners (used mainly for skiing and snowboarding) for 20 bucks off of Backcountry.com and they are awesome. I use them as a casual glove and a light work glove and so far they have pretty much done everything I had hoped for when relinquishing that precious twenty dollars.

I use these sheep skin gloves by Scott.

They aren't too much of a use if it gets colder than -20 C but otherwise I can recommend them.
Very easy to control your camera and you also get pretty firm grip with these.
