Very cool shot! I would have spent a few hours there trying to get closer and closer to the web to get some shots of the water drops.

Nice stuff!

I think the shot has potential but find the background overpowering and distracting. I probably would have used a wide open aperture setting instead of f/13 to try reducing the background to a blur. I probably would have cropped much tighter on the web too, trying to insure that my subject got all the possible attention.

Dick, these are just my opinions and these combined with about $5 could get you a Starbucks. I know this was the first image you posted and want to make sure that you are not offended. I believe all the members will offer their honest opinions when asked (and sometimes without being asked), but we are a friendly group and take others views as trying to be helpful. Rarely do we all agree with each other, so just ignore or question any critiques that you disagree with or find confusing.

Glad to have you with us Dick and please keep the images coming! We all like pics!

Edited to add image: Dick, I thought I had a similar image where I did shoot with a shallow DOF to blur the background. I did have someone home in mine, but I think you'll get the idea. BTW, this spider web was in the gorilla's impound at the zoo so it was shot at 400mm f/5.6 (wide open).

Thanks for the comments/feedback.

Sometimes when I am taking photos I forget to change the setting of the camera to get what I want or maybe I just don't know what I want in the photo. I will post some more photos for comments/feedback and maybe I can learn from ya all.
