Not to hijack the thread...but Pat, you make me feel bad every time I look at your photo's

I think I'm going to stuff my pockets with Molasses and put my camera on a tripod with my wireless remote, just so I can get pictures of Bear wrestling.

Hey Chris, I havent heard from you in awhile and was wondering what ever happened with the boat tour idea?

Not sure if you noticed the new website in mine or Cindy's signatures, but we've made a major career move and got a place over in Cedar Key Florida. I was looking on the map and it looks like its a few hours from you in Palatka.

I know it takes us just under an hour to get to Gainseville when we have to go to town to get major supplies

We got a little 5 room motel/RV campground/tiki bar that is right on the water. The birding around here is amazing and we've had a ton of people come by asking about boat tours and photography in the Florida area. We both thought of you and the business you were talking about starting, so I thought if you did end up getting it started, either mail me some flyers or come by for a visit and drop some off. We can go out for the day shooting if you have the time :D

We'd love to be able to push some business your way and help out a fellow photographer who's trying to get a new business up and running.

Feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email and we can set up a date. Even if you didnt get it started just yet, we'd still love to go out shooting if you have any spare time. Always looking for more friends to go out and play with

Pat,

Congrats on the Campground! That is an awesome area on the Gulf. As of right now the boat tour idea has taken a back burner, but is never gone. If the need arises I can pull something together. We always had the boat it was just what do we do with it when we are not fishing or something like that. I will see what I can get pulled together and get something for you.

As far as getting together, my wife and I have been talking about getting the camping gear out, loading up the bikes and taking the kids camping here pretty soon. Maybe we will head your way. I will let you know what is going on. I would deffinetly love to meet up and go shoot for a day.

Hope we can get something put together!

Peace,
Chris Gallagher

Ok, time to resurrect an old thread that has come full circle

I remembered reading this and commenting on it a few years ago, so I came looking for it.

Since landing in Cedar Key, we've had so many people visit and ask about photography specific boating tours, that I had the same idea you did Chris.

I recently passed the Coast Guard test for a Captain's License and we're in the early stages of putting together some Birding Specific Tours around our area of the Gulf Coast.

Chris, you'll have to come over and take one of our tours. They'll be small, hopefully kept to 4 people on the boat. I'll work with each person to make sure their camera is set up properly and explain some tips on how to come home with images they'll be proud to show off to their friends and fellow photographers. We're planning for opening up the tours for the 1st week of July when the island of Seahorse Key opens which is a Bird Rookery. Tours will be 4 hours starting as Sunrise and ending when the light gets too hot for good photography.

Last year we were able to get some top notch images day after day.
