New Lens, busted camera

Postby peter nap » Mon Jan 25, 2010 4:07 pm

On Saturday I took the plunge and traded my L series 70-200 for a 100-400 L.

I took a few pictures and went home. When I went to put my 49D away, the rear LCD was broken. I haven't a clue how it happened. The 40D is on it's way to be repaired and the 100-400 is on the XS and doing well.

Some days I guess I need to be given a dose of humility.

Peter,

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the LCD. Hope the replacement price is reasonable.

Peter, after getting the 100-400, my 70-200 f/2.8 rarely left my bag and I finally sold it. I did replace that range with some primes, but can't say i miss the 70-200 at all. Hope you enjoy the 100-400.

I wouldnt mind getting a 100-400L, but I cant ever see getting rid of the 70-200 f/2.8, the thing just takes such good photos. Especially for the action and low light stuff I'm so used to shooting, it's really the best lens I think I've ever used. That and the 24-70 f/2.8 are such an amazing combo

Sorry to hear about your camera Peter, looks like Canon has both of our equipment right now

The bright spot is..I got tired of using the XS and bought a 7D over the weekend...What a camera! The Kit Lens that came with it is so much sharper than my Sigma, I'm going to keep it too. Sure took a big load off of my ....wallet :?
