I found this forum a few days ago. Looks like a pretty nice group of talented photogs here!

I don't get as much time to shoot as I would like, but am planning a trip to West Virginia next week. Any advice for great shooting spots near Canaan Valley and Pipestem?

Lea,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

I like the macro shot.

I can't help much on the WV trip, but you might shoot Rich Westfall at Pbase a note. Here's a link to his work: http://www.pbase.com/wvaphoto

I'm not sure where this is compared to where you'll be, but anytime we've traveled through WV, we take US-60 as its such a beautiful drive.

You travel through some small coal mining towns and the Gauley Falls area will fill up your Compact Flash Card quick

While in WV, that area is one of my favorites

Welcome,

I have not spent much time in WV, but if you are anywhere the New River and New river gorge it is worth a stop. And if you are headed through cental Kentucky, Red River Gorge is the place to be. Especially this time of year, because of water levels and blooms.

Hope you enjoy your trip.
