Thanks Luca and Robin! And thanks for the comparison to AA! No, Robin, I try not to copy any style, although I look at many styles. It's funny, because at my other forum I post at (The Purists), many thought it looked like a Dali composition. :) I view a scene with a particular thought of how I would like the composition to look, take several shots at different angles and different settings and then post process the image both in RAW and tiff (with occasional and minimal HDR tone mapping) to suit my needs.

My style is not to produce reality, but to create a photographic composition of my mind's eye. I tend towards high contrast (high black point) and with minimal sharpening and a little more than reality saturated colors. I love wide angle shots (12-24mm) but will use my 80-200mm when called for.
