Dantes View is one of the few ‘High Points’ in the western United States that you can drive up to. From this perch over a mile above Death Valley National Park, you can see about a thousand square miles of nothing. Having been born and raised on the east coast I still marvel at sights like this and am filled with emotion. Our public lands, and the foresight of our forefathers to protect them, man this is really something special. Taken on my birthday 2010, not a spectacular sunset but still a great birthday!
