Well, I spent the afternoon in the Lorain County MetroParks at the Carlisle Visitor Center where they were having "Birds of Prey Photo Day" (they do these every few months or so). Basically they take a number of their raptors out into the local woods and "pose" them in trees and such for the photographers. This one is the fourth I've been to so far and the pics just keep getting better
I have a number of images that I will probably post over the next week or so as I get them processed, but I wanted to get this one up tonight. Before heading out this morning, I was looking at various raptor pics on the internet...you know...get the juices pumping, get the muses attention and so on (LOL!). Let's say I got inspired and this was the result...
This is a barred owl of course...his name is Oliver. Ollie's in kind of a sad place right now...his "room mate", Athena (another barred owl of course) passed away a couple of months ago due to liver failure. His handler's told me he's been very noticably depressed ever since...they're trying to find him a new roomie.
I did some very minimul fine tuning/tweaks in Photoshop, but this shot is actually pretty much "as is" right off the camera...sometimes I get lucky and just nail it! LOL!!! Camera was my trusty Sony H1 and you can read the EXIF data for the details. As always, comments and critiques are quite welcomed!
Bright Blessings & Gentle Breezes,
