Blue Carpenter Bee (MPE-65)

Postby Dalantech » Mon Jul 09, 2007 10:30 pm

This guy is HUGE: 25mm long (one inch)! Moving very fast, and more than a little skittish. So I had to shoot at life size, but the next time I find one feeding a little slower (and a little less skittish) I'll go for a higher magnification shot of that eye...

All Canon gear: Xti (manual mode, F 16, 1/200, ISO 100) + MPE-65mm macro lens + MT-24EX with home made diffusers.

Working distance at life size: 10.1cm (4 inches).
