Dragonfly closeups -dial up warning (8 images).

As much as I like shooting macro there is no substitute for natural light. These shots were taken either with Canon's 100mm macro + a 500D diopter or a 70-200 F4 L + 500D. Sometimes I use a little flash for fill (-2 FEC). Very little post processing -no more than two minutes per photo maximum. I like to let the light and the aperture paint the background for me so I don't have to be a slave to Photoshop, and I never crop -unless you count the view finder :)

#2 is my Favorite. It looks like he/she? is smiling at you and hamming it up for the camera

Thanks! That's a male Keeled Skimmer -a new one for me. I didn't see them at all last year.
