Favourite Image of 2011

Postby Glenn Bartley » Thu Dec 29, 2011 8:56 am

2011 has been a crazy year of bird photography for me. With trips to Ecuador, Costa Rica, All over BC, Newfoundland and Churchill I definitely racked up some air miles. It is really hard to pick ONE favourite from this year. But if I had to I think I would choose this image from Costa Rica of a Violet-crowned Woodnymph Hummingbird emerging from a small stream in the forest. I had dreamed of taking a photo like this for a long time and it was a great thrill to execute my vision.

Wishing you all a very happy New Year!

Very nice shot. Do they just dive in? Do they float around like ducks to at all (would be interesting)?
Sunrise it too early, I'll see the encore.
