Mutton Busting

Postby Bonish Photo » Wed May 27, 2009 10:48 am

While spending the weekend at the Rock Bottom Chuck Wagon Races over the Memorial Day weekend, one of the events was called Mutton Busting. This was where kids who wanted to act like the grown up bull riders would ride atop sheep. It made for some of the funniest times of the weekend. There were times I couldnt take photos I was laughing so hard.

This was the only girl, and she was trash talking right there with the little guys!

#4 and #5 are priceless!

Knowing I'll probably get slammed for this comment - all the subjects in #5 need are some Marlboro's or a chaw of Redman!

Caption #5?
"Who'd ya draw?" "Baa-aa-aa-d Baa-aa-aa-rt" "Good luck. He's a mean sumb*tch. Threw Lil' Jimmy back in Amarillo and stomped him good."
"Oh Lordy. They didn't have to...?" "Yep. Had to call mommy." "Guess he won't be showin' up round here for a while."
I came; I saw; I shot; I shared.

My thoughts exactly! I like the bull riding shots, but these are in a class by themselves! Great work!

OMG!!! I'm laughing so hard at the caption you posted Pokie! That is just exactly what it looks like they were saying to one another.

Thanks for the comments on the photos. I've always loved to photograph sports and kids the most because of how natural and easy it is. So combining the two was just icing on the cake
