When shooting wide angle scapes, with a prominant foreground focal point, are you manually focusing on that point or using a southernly positioned auto focus point , as on the Canon body? What's most common to "get it all"?

Here's a link to a DOF calculator that will help you determine how far past your close subject you can focus. The actual distance you can focus beyond your close subject and still have it in focus depends on a lot of variables. Hope this helps.
